Venture a little off the Greenpoint G stop, and you’ll find Spritzenhaus. The sign is big so it’s hard to miss. Inside you’ll be greeted by a warm fireplace during a winter, a series of long and short tables scattered around, and a bar on both the left and right side of the venue. As its name implies, Spritzenhaus has a German beer hall vibe. There are giant pretzels and other german style appetizers that you can order from the bar, and pick up at the kitchen near the rear of the venue. There is a large variety of beer on tap and in bottle. The bar staff is very knowledgable when it comes to recommendations. Typical crowd is in their 20’s and 30’s. The assortment of table sizes makes this a greta place for both couples and larger groups. Going on a date? Grab a table by the fireplace and a stack of Jenga blocks. Also bring a sharpie, you can right witty or vulgar comments on the Jenga blocks. Have you been to Spritzenhaus? Let us know what you think of it in the comments below.
